The Republican Blame

The Democrats are blaming the Republicans and the Republicans are blaming the Democrats for the government shutdown. Who is really to blame? Well, the vote was to approve spending to pay the bills. “The Patient Protection and Affordable Health Care Act” is a law, checked and balanced by the U.S. Supreme Court over a year ago. It is a moot point. The Republican’s shutting down the government after all the formal checks and balances have been done is anti-American. It is political hostage taking. All of the Bills put before the Senate and the House should be “clean Bills.” We all complain about the pork, yet the far right continues to pork it up. This time, it’s pulled pork. If we have to lay blame, well, who is adding the pork to the clean Bill? Who is trying to get something out of a Bill not meant for this purpose? The last year we gained the “Mansanto Protection Act.” This time they want to appeal what they call, “Obamacare.” I say it’s time for the far right to pry the corporate teeth out of their asses, puke out the PAC dollars, and reopen the government based on real Americanism.

I read an article about a CNN interview with Harry Reid. I was ashamed by the way it was spun to the republican base, making people see what wasn’t there. No wonder Republican Texas has a Bill to outlaw critical thinking in schools. They have created many no-brainers that can’t read the words put in front of them without being told what “it really” says. It’s pitiful that the American mind is becoming so dependent on what they are told instead of using common sense. I know they can read, but they can’t comprehend unless someone tells them what to think.

This article is in reference to an interview by CNN’s Dana Bash, Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and Harry Reid (D-NV.)

The question Dana Bash asked was: But if you can help one child who has cancer why wouldn’t you do it?

Sen. Chuck Schumer: Why put one against the other?

Sen. Harry Reid: Why would we want to do that? I have 1,100 people at Nellis Air Force base that are sitting home. They have a few problems of their own. This is-- to have someone of your intelligence to suggest such a thing maybe means you’re irresponsible and reckless.

Obviously, Reid’s words were meant for Schumer, not Bash. Reid had also said he didn’t think the government had a right to piecemeal certain sections of government to remain open leaving other sections closed.

The propaganda pushed out of the Republican spin machine said Reid didn’t care about children with cancer. It hit the Internet with lightening speed and it was tweeted and retweeted, written on and commented on, degrading and depicting Reid for someone he isn’t. With just an ounce of critical thinking, the posting commentators wouldn’t have filled page after page of “Reid is Evil” and “The libtards don’t care about children.”

The reality is far from the truth. Harry Reid is one that has fought for funding for research and treatment of cancer and other illnesses. The same Republicans are the ones that vote against it, every time. Heaven forbid, we don’t need to fund research when there is money to be made by the insurance companies and drug companies that line political pockets. Who really doesn’t care? I can go on and on, but I’ll spare my readers.

It does make me angry that irresponsible journalists write gibberish to play to their party. Lies are the very basis of betrayal. What is even more infuriating than the irresponsible journalists are the weak and led minds of the readers. I’m stymied at the growth of ignorance in America.

Until the next time,

Pam
